Twilight Wedding Dress!!!!

Attention twilight lovers! InStyle magazine asked some the world's most famous bridal designers to sketch our dear Bella's wedding dress, from the fourth installment of the series, Breaking Dawn. It's described in the book as old fashioned with a few modern tweaks from Alice Cullen. Bella is said to look like she's stepped out of a Jane Austen film. Can't wait to see what the dress will look like on K Stew! I love love love Monique Lhuillier and Lela Rose's designs!!!!

No longer a bridesmaid's worse nightmare!

From the film 27 dresses
Kevin: What the hell is that?
Jane: Theme wedding.
Kevin: What was the theme? Humiliation?
I think this quote and picture from 27 dresses pretty much sums up the horror of being a bridesmaid. There once was a time when it felt like brides were purposely choosing the ugliest, most ridiculous bridesmaid dresses for their best friends! Thank goodness times have changed, and fashionista brides now expect their bridesmaids to look as fabulous as they do! Here are some of my new favorite bridesmaids looks!

Engagement Ring Trends

I've always been a girl's girl. One that tends to gravitate towards shiny things. I've been one to obsess about the cut, color, carat, and clarity of a diamond or other precious stone, and can't wait for a rock to be placed on my finger. The engagement ring...the one piece of jewelry every girl dreams of. It's a symbol of commitment, of promise, and of everlasting love. All that glittery nonsense seems secondary to the flood of emotion when your dream guy drops to one knee and opens that little box filled with dreams of a future with you. Below are some of my favorite new engagement ring trends, courtesy of Instyleweddings.com.

Fashion forward weddings

Attention all you couture loving fashionistas! What better way to make a fashion statement than to incorporate the latest runway trends on your big day! Here are a couple ways to incorporate these designer looks at your wedding

Metallics - Use this trend in your decor. This eye catching place setting is only one of the ways to bring some shimmer to the party.

Bold colors - Flowers are a perfect way to really bring this trend to life at your ceremony and reception.

Gemstones - A beautiful and unique way to display either your table cards or favors. A bejeweled tray will definitely intrigue your guests.

Ruffles - Use this feminine trend unexpectedly. A sheet of ruffled linen brings glamour to this cake table. Quick note: Be sure to use this only if your cake is simple. Think twice before putting anything too embellished on this linen!

To veil, or not to veil

I got to thinking about the significance of wedding veils after answering a post on Wedding Wire. As cliche as they may be , I love what they represent. One of the oldest bridal traditions, the veil symbolizes a bride's innocence, youth, and virginity. Some say it's a symbol of a bride's submission to her husband to be. Over the years, the symbolism has been forgotten, but the tradition lives on! They've actually became quite a fashion statement! I think that the veil adds mystery and intrigue to an already beautiful and blushing bride. See some of my favorite styles below from www.instyleweddings.com!

You can't beat the romance of a mantilla veil! The lace is exquisite!

Once you've picked out your perfect veil, what do you do with it on your wedding day, especially if you're getting married in a cathedral or synagogue? There are no formal church rules about when the veil should be lifted. Traditionally, the veil should be lifted after the ceremony, right after the officiant says, "You may kiss the bride." Some brides have their fathers unveil them at the alter, as they're giving them away. It really depends on whether or not you mind having the veil in front of you during the ceremony. I like the idea of a father lifting it at the alter just for the giving away kiss, then replacing it so that the groom can fully unveil you after you're pronounced man and wife! Unveil and then smooch. That's what I'm gonna do on my big day. XOXO
